About Me
It was during a trip to Mexico after my freshman year of college when I first began to hear the call to missions in my life. I have a commitment card that I filled out the summer of 1998, during that trip to Mexico, saying that I plan on working in fulltime missions at some point in life. The line for witness is blank. I think I was scared to have someone hold me to it. I didn’t think I could be hearing that call correctly. As much as I loved serving and being part of short-term teams, I doubted that I was ‘enough’ to be a missionary. I’m not a great public speaker. I can be shy with people I don’t know. Not that these are necessarily bad things, but they didn’t fit my image of who a missionary was. I didn’t think that I had the skills and abilities needed to serve the Lord full time. But it wasn’t just a passing thought, and I have held on to this card. But I’m obeying the call that God started preparing me for all those years ago. I knew that I was being called to a full-time missions, but I hadn’t had a lifelong dream of working in a specific country

or with a specific people group. So I really began to seek out what God was calling me to do. My pastor knew about my desire to serve and began inviting me to talk with every missionary that came to church and sharing different opportunities with me. As I continued to seek God’s will in prayer and through His hand in the process and these connections, I was connected to a missionary couple in Bolivia. I am based in Cochabamba, Bolivia, serving at the Bolivian Hope Center, which ministers to the children in the area. The Hope Center has become a home for children who have been left without anyone to care for them and would otherwise be on the streets or living in prison with a parent who has been incarcerated. The Center provides a safe and comfortable home for these kids. It is a place where they are shown the love of God and taught about Him each day. I just love seeing how God works, preparing me for ministry when I had no idea where I would end up. As I continue to serve at the Bolivian Hope Center, I see how he continues to equip me for whatever task he puts before me. There are days where the enemy brings back to mind the doubts that I had back when I first filled out that commitment card. But I know that the Lord is bigger than those doubts, and as I work with the children in Bolivia and have the opportunity to share the love of God with them each day, I know that I am where He has called me to be. I am so excited to be able to follow Him on this journey and see what else He has planned, and I appreciate all of your support on the journey as well.
My Mission
To Build a Better World - 36 kids at a time
As I serve at the Bolivian Hope Center, my main job is to pour into the lives of these kids.
Some days I sit and watch TV with them. Some days I help with home work. Some days I get to take them shopping for birthday presents. Other days I have to deal with issues in school or take kids to visits with the judge. There is no regular day here at the Bolivian Hope Center, but every day is special. Besides being able to feed, clothe and bring education to these kids, I get to share the love of God with them each and every day! I get to read the Bible and worship with them. I get to see them be baptized and grow in their own faith.
